The Application of PLA/PLGA in Tissue Engineering

Polylactic acid(PLA) and Poly(D,L-lactic-co-glycolic) acid are biodegradable materials with good biocompatibility.Because of the double-action of scaffold and slow-release,it is mainly researched in tissue engineering and pharmacy field.In this article,the metabolic characteristics,mechanism of degradation and the application of PLA/PLGA in tissue engineering are reviewed.
