This article has been retracted at the request of the Editors-in-Chief. Fig. 3a of this paper had previously been published in Int. J. Cancer , 118 (2006) 765–772, doi: 10.1002/ijc.21389 and should have been appropriately cited as such. One of the conditions of submission of a paper for publication is that authors declare explicitly that their work is original and has not appeared or will not appear in a publication elsewhere (or that if an excerpt or illustration is used with permission it is acknowledged as such). As such this article represents a severe abuse of the scientific publishing system.
