On bromopyridines: (59th communication on derivatives of pyridine and quinoline)

Descriptions are given of different methods of preparation and proofs of the structure of six bromopyridines (2,3-dibromo-, 2,4-dibromo-, 3,4-dibromo-, 2,3,4-tribromo-, 2,4,5-tribromo-, and 2,3,4,5-tetrabromopyridine), while at the same time some of their chemical properties, in particular their reaction with ammonia, are discussed. In conclusion a survey is given of some of the physical properties of the bromopyridines which are now all known; the boiling points of these substances were determined anew.
