The use and composition of the home range of a male Barn Owl, during the breeding, was studied by means of radio-tracking; prey populations were also considered. Prey density was the same both inside and outside the home range; within it, prey density was more than twice as high in open fields than in areas with hedgerows. However, the Barn Owl hunted more often in the hedgerow habitat. This leads to a discussion on the influence of landscape structure on the foraging strategy of the Barn Owl
