The invention provides a three-dimensional people stream movement analysis method based on a camera projection matrix. The three-dimensional people stream movement analysis method comprises the following steps: collecting a surveillance video image of a target area, carrying out corresponding point mapping on the surveillance video image and a three-dimensional model of the target area, and calculating the camera projection matrix; extracting a plurality of foreground moving objects of the surveillance video image, obtaining the two-dimensional coordinates of the plurality of foreground moving objects, and carrying out three-dimensional mapping on each moving object according to the two-dimensional coordinate and the perspective projection matrix of each foreground moving object; according to the plurality of extracted foreground moving objects, dividing a moving foreground area, and estimating a people stream density value of the moving foreground area; and adopting an optical flow method to calculate the movement vector of each foreground moving object, mapping the movement vector to a three-dimensional area according to a camera projection matrix, and carrying out statistics on a people stream gathering degree in a main movement direction of the area to carry out people stream gathering early warning. The three-dimensional people stream movement analysis method realizes the detection of characteristics including people stream density, gathering directions and the like in the movement foreground area.
