Evaluation of the fetal ventricular function in hyperthyroidism mother by Tissue Doppler Tei in-dex

2014
Objective To evaluate the function of fetal heart in hyperthyroidism mother by tissue Doppler Tei index. Methods Thirty women diagnosed as hyperthyroidism in pregnancy and another thir-ty women diagnosed as subclinical hyperthyroidism were enrolled and divided into group A and group B. Thirty normal fetal during the same gestational weeks were chosen as controls(group C). All of them un-derwent fetal echocardiography. The left and right ventricular function was detected by tissue Doppler Tei index. Meanwhile, the ventricular chambers were measured and then the left ventricular mass(LVM)was calculated. Results Compared with group C,the left and right Tei index in group B decreased signifi-cantly(P 〈 0. 05),but there were no significant differences in left ventricular mass(P 〉0. 05). In group A,the right ventricular index and left ventricular mass obviously increased compared with group B and group C(P 〈 0. 05),but the left ventricular index significantly decreased(P 〈 0. 05). Conclusions The fetal left and right ventricular function in subclinical hyperthyroidism women increase reactively, and the fetal left ventricular function in hyperthyroidism mother also increases, but the right ventricular func-tion in hyperthyroidism women decreases significantly, while the left ventricular mass apparently increa-ses. The tissue Doppler Tei index can estimate the left and right heart function of fetal in hyperthyroidism mother simply and accurately, and guide the clinical intervention.
