Assessment of thermoluminescence peaks in porcelain for use in retrospective dosimetry

2011
Abstract The thermoluminescence (TL) of porcelain is investigated in order to develop better protocols for retrospective dosimetry. Spatial, spectral and kinetic measurements have been made on several electrical insulators. We broaden our search for suitable techniques by examining the TL emission spectra outside of the blue detection region commonly used by TL readers. The 230 °C TL emission at 620 nm is identified as potentially useful for retrospective dosimetry of radiological events over the past few decades.
