Programa educativo com alunos de uma escola privada para o consumo de verduras e legumes

The school has a fundamental role in health promotion, with an environment that fosters the adoption of appropriate eating practices. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of an educational program on the acceptance of vegetables by students who attend a bilingual full-time school in a private school in the south of Sao Paulo. This is an intervention study with a playful-didactic approach in three moments, with the purpose of favoring the acceptance of vegetables in the food offered at school. Thirty-four students participated in the first meeting, the second 32 and the third 33. The average age was 7.8 ± 1.18 years and 29.5% overweight. There was reduction of remaining intake of cabbage and zucchini and there was no standardization in the portions served. As a result of the educational program, there was a reduction in the rest-intake values of cabbage and zucchini, with no change in pumpkin acceptance when compared to the initial values.
