A Study on the Ductile Fracture A1 Alloy 7075-T6 and 2017-T4

ABSTRACT The mechanism of the ductile fracture is studied by FEM analysis and experiment for the Al Alloy 7075-TR and 2017-T4. A model for the interaction of a crack tip with a void or voids in its neighborhood is analyzed by using the modified Gurson's model. Taking fracture criterion into consideration, the analysis of a crack propagation is carried out. At the same time, the experiments conducted for the 1CT specimen are analyzed by using FRASTA (Fracture Surface Topography Analysis) and the process of the fracture is investigated in real time.
