2021
(Purpose) The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of the digital gap on their satisfaction with their lives and the relative size of the digital gap for marriage immigrant women. (Design/methodology/approach) The digital information gap survey conducted by the National Information Society Agency (KISA) is empirically analyzed through regression analysis of the original data in 2019 and the analysis method of alignment score matching. (Findings) The results of this study show that when an ordered logit model is used to analyze the effect of the digital information gap, defined as the availability of online communication and exchange, on life satisfaction, the regression analysis result is the resolution of the digital divide in marriage immigrant women. Suggests that can be a policy alternative that can improve their satisfaction in life. In addition, the results of this study show that in the analysis using the binomial logit model and propensity score matching, the digital gap of marriage immigrant women is relatively more severe than that of Korean women with similar socio-economic attributes. (Research implications or Originality) The number of marriage migrant women in Korea is continuously increasing, but their adaptation and harmonization to Korean society are insufficient. The results of this paper imply that there is a need to close or mitigate the digital information gap as a policy measure.
