Clinical Trial Protocols for Anti-Inflammatory and other Liposome Dermatics

By enhancing drug accumulation at the site of administration, liposomes may improve its activity and reduce serious side effects due to undesirable systemic absorption. Increased drug levels in the skin compared with conventional formulations have been repeatedly observed in vitro and in animal experiments (for review, see [5]). There is, however, a lack of evidence that these findings also apply to humans, especially to patients [25]. Thus, clinical trials are indispensable.
