Influence of field direction on magnetization measurement for NbTi wire
2004
Upper critical field, μ0Hc2 was important to the type-II superconductors and interested to study for the nature of transition points near the upper critical field. A standard NbTi wire was used to explore the influence of magnetic field direction on magnetization measurement. The external field was applied in the direction of perpendicular or parallel to the sample axis. It swept up to 12 Tesla with the temperature changing from 4.2 K to 9.5 K in a Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM) system. Upper critical fields such as μ0H irr(T) and μ0Hc2(T) were observed on the measured curves. These upper critical fields showed a linear relation dependent on temperatures.
