REFLEXIONES SOBRE LA NOCIÓN DE CUIDADO EN EL SISTEMA CULTURAL DE LA MODERNIDAD

This paper develops some reflections about the notion of care on persons that live with a chronic illness, impeding secondary prevention. Through an ethnographic investigation, the contents of the idea of care are described and its origins in the system of modern thought is traced. It is found that the subjective injunctions that modernity provides and the culture of indolence are the main sources of a vision of healthcare based on control and relinquishment.
