Successful trials of turbo-boosting of positive displacement compressors

An earlier paper (1) from Corac Group plc presented at the IMechE Compressor Conference in 2005 described the trial of a micro-turbocompressor boosting a water-injected screw compressor under test stand conditions. For this investigation, the water-injected screw used had a performance which was some way below the state-of-the art which meant that the high efficiencies predicted could not be realised.
