Studies on ionic mass transfer in an electrolytic cell in the presence of triangle teethed baffles
2021
Abstract Mass Transfer data obtained using diffusion – controlled cathodic reduction of ferricyanide ion at the microelectrodes fixed on the electrode support in an electrolytic cell in the presence of a Triangle teethed baffles fixed on the cell wall. The electrolyte used in this study was eqimolal potassium ferricyanide, potassium ferrocyanide and excess sodium hydroxide. The mass transfer coefficient increased with increase in flow rate of the electrolyte and width of baffle and decreased with increase in spacing between the baffles. The experimental data are correlated as following: J D = 39.81 R e - 0.63 w s 0.271 .
