KADIN VE DOĞA İLİŞKİSİ BAĞLAMINDA EKOFEMİNİZMİN SANATA YANSIMASI

2020
Aiming to draw attention to the exploitation of nature and woman, ecofeminism is a social movement consisting of the synthesis of ecology and feminism. Ecofeminism built its theories on the relationship between masculine domination and exploitation of nature. They based their reasons for the exploitation of nature and women on the dualist perspectives of western philosophy. In this regard, they brought a critical approach and offered solutions. The views advocated by ecofeminism also became visible in daily life under favour of environmental activists and feminist artists. The reflection of ecofeminism to art has paralleled the post-1960 feminist art movements and the development processes of environmental art. Representatives of ecofeminist art are generally female artists, and their artistic attitude is on nature interventions. These artists also act with the mission of protecting the planet that Social Ecofeminism advocates as they set out the concepts related to the ideas of Mother Nature and Gaia which is the main source of cultural ecofeminism. This study examines the relationship between the dualist approach of western culture, with the woman and nature exploitation starting from the historical link between women and nature. Based on the findings obtained, the elements that base of ecofeminism are handled in general terms and the reflection of ecofeminism to art is examined through reference artists.
