Vibrational exictation of hydrogen desorbed from a carbon surface

2008
We have studied the recombination of H atoms adsorbed on a carbon surface as a function of the surface temperature between 90 and 300 K. The molecules formed by this mechanism are excited to high vibrational states and this excitation shows a strong temperature dependence.
