JOB SATISFACTION AND TURNOVER INTENTIONS AMONG COLLEGE FACULTY IN GILGIT-BALTISTAN, PAKISTAN

The aim of this research is to identify job satisfaction as a predictor of turnover intention among public and private sector college faculty in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. A total of 100 participants (59 males & 41 females)belonging to public (n = 34) and private (n = 66) institutions participated in this study. It was hypothesized that college faculties’ reported job satisfaction and demographic variables would predict their turnover intentions in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan.Job satisfaction Scale (Spector, 1985) and Turnover Intention Scale (Olusegun, 2013) were used to collect data. Results showed that job satisfaction was significantly associated with faculty turnover intentions. Single participants have significantly higher level of turnover intention as compared to married participants. Participants from the private sector reported higher level of turnover intention as compared to participants from the public sector.
