Man-Machine Cooperation in Network Era for Information Retrieval, Filtering and Access

Abstract This paper presents an integrated proxy server that supports information sharing among intranet users. The presented proxy server includes the following functions to cooperate with users: indexing for visited sites, URL classification into relevant categories, search term presentation by thesaurus, page caching for first access, and data transformation. These functions are designed to improve the accessibility to the Web. Experimentation from implementation is also discussed.
