Abraham (“Abs”) Cohen.

Former general practitioner Liverpool (b west Hartlepool 1906; q Sheffield 1929; MSc), died on 6 February 2005 following a heart attack. After qualification Abs entered general practice in Liverpool in partnership with his brother. The one interruption in his more than 50 years of service was when he joined the Royal Army Medical Corps. In retirement he indulged his lifelong interest in mathematics and French, and dabbled in cooking (to his wife's dismay). Widowed in 2000, he leaves two sons and five grandchildren.
