The invention relates to a braking system for a freight car of a railway vehicle comprising at least two friction brakes (1a, 1b) for delaying the freight wagon, a control valve (2) in accordance with a pressure in the main air line (3) an output pressure for transmission on at least one brake cylinder (5a), wherein the at least one brake cylinder (5a), a brake force for the at least two friction brakes (1a, 1b) generates and at least one transmission device (6) to the at least two friction brakes (1a, 1b) passes, a supply air reservoir (7 ) (for storing the air supply for the at least one brake cylinder (5) and a plurality of manually operable actuators (8) for manual operation of the control valve 2).
