Effect of temperature on changes in rheological properties of carbon-black plastic [Grease] systems
1973
1.
The exposure of a carbon-black plastic [grease] system to high temperatures leads to irreversible drops in the values of certainrheological parameters-apparent viscosity, viscosity-shear coefficient, and yield point — up to a complete loss of the specific properties of structurized dispersions (conversion of the system to a fluid state).
2.
Determination of the yield point without standard mechanical breakdown (per GOST specification) showed that the heat-hardening is characteristic for the carbon-black pseudogels.
3.
Possible reasons for these changes in the rheological properties of carbon-black pseudogels have been examined.
