The present invention discloses a novel technology for synthesizing super absorbent resin with high potassium content, which mainly comprises the following steps: preparing alkali solution at a certain concentration, dropwise adding the alkali solution to potato starch at room temperature to obtain alkali gelatinized potato starch, and heating in water bath under nitrogen atmosphere to carry out graft copolymerization reaction on alkali gelatinization potato starch as well as acrylic acid and potassium salt thereof to obtain super absorbent resin with high potassium content, wherein the obtained resin has good liquid-absorption ability, and the highest deionized water absorption amount is 1200-1500 times. In the invention, alkali solution is completely used to gelatinize potato starch milk at room temperature, and the alkali gelatinization potato starch obtained by the method is used for synthesizing the super absorbent resin with high potassium content for the first time, compared with other preparation methods of super absorbent resin, the method is simple process, low in energy consumption and easy in operation and control, thus expanding a new way for producing the super absorbent resin with high potassium content in large scale.
