Two scenes that model the oral communicative competence of the journalism students: educational and curricular design

2008
A description of two scenarios modelling the competence of the students of the School of Social Communication (LUZ): curriculum design and the communicative performance of the lecturers to verify: (a) the effort strategies (teaching contents, theory and practice) and (b) the reinforcement ones: lecturers’oral competence: metalinguistic function, employed to develop oral production abilities. The methodology was: (a) analysis of the objectives of the design to establish teaching categories of comprehension, production or both oral processes; (b) the observation of twelve lecturers, a sample to characterize the oral competence of their performance in class. The results indicate (a) the teacher’s rejection of comprehension as the basis of effective production; (b) the inapplicability of the resources of public speech by the teachers of journalism. The actualization of concepts and discourse in this area is seential for the dynamics of the new information society does not admit bidirectional interaction models or incompetent interlocutors.
