Effect of PGE1 on expressions of adrenomedullin in rats with diabetic nephropathy

Objective To observe the effects of PGE1 on the expression of adrenomedullin in diabetic nephropathy(DN)rats,and to investigate the mechanism of PGE1 for DN.Methods 30 Wistar rats were divided into normal control group,DN group and treated group with PGE1 200μg/(kg·d).After 4 weeks and 8 weeks,serum creatinine(Scr)and 24h urinary protein were both screened.The expression of ADM was examined by quantitative double-antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results Compared with DN group,the levels of Scr and 24h urinary protein excretion,was reduced significantly decreased in PGE1 group(P0.05 or P0.01).And the expression of ADM was significantly in PGE1 group(P0.05).Conclusion PGE1 may be play a role in Reno protection in rats with DN,and it maybe contribute to reduction of urine protein by decreasing ADM.
