Conversion of 3-Acetoxy-6-acetoxymethyl-2H-pyran-2-one to Cyclopentenone Derivatives and 1,3-Cyclopentanedione

Simple synthetic routes to 2-cyclopentenone derivatives and 1,3-cyclopentanedione from 3-acetoxy-6-acetoxymethyl-2H-pyran-2-one were developed.
