The objective of this paper is to accomplishment a review study on generalized experiences in the reuse of concrete as recycled aggregates for new concrete. The bibliographic method and the deductive method are implemented in the management and analysis of the main references on the main parameters to control in the aggregates made with discarded concrete. The study indicates that the main requirements for recycled concrete aggregates are density, porosity, granulometry, absorption capacity, shape coefficient and texture; As long as these are kept within the limits allowed in the regulations, they can be used with some caution, as long as they are not intended for use in concretes with high load-bearing capacity. It is evident that the use of recycled aggregates in the production of concrete is an ecological solution to the continuous depletion of natural aggregates and, at the same time, does not differ much in the behavior of substituted aggregates, provided that the mentioned parameters are monitored. Although there are experiences that recommend percentages of substitution of recycled aggregate for natural ones and the effects they have on the basic properties of hardened concrete, they should not be taken as standards, rather as referenced experiences. In each case, it is a requirement that concretes with recycled aggregates be subjected to behavior studies since the source of origin of construction waste is not standard.
