Preliminary Study on a PM Magnetic Levitation Train

Recently, several studies have been conducted to improve and optimize the stability of magnetic levitation (maglev) train for their development. This study investigates the advantages and disadvantages of various types of maglev trains and recent research on maglev trains, and proposes a new maglev train’s model, which focuses on low power consumption and stability that are realized using two levitation methods together. To verify this model, we derive theoretical equations for the levitation, propulsion, and guiding forces from the theoretical model, and compare them with the results of electromagnetic field analysis.
