Case Report- Deep Pectoral Myopathy in Seven-Week-Old Broiler Chickens

SUMMARY This paper reports the incidence as well as the gross and microscopic appearance of deep pectoral myopathy in a flock of 7-weekold broiler chickens. The myopathy developed in 5%o of the birds within one week of being individually handled for subjective broiler trait evaluation. The lesion consisted of bilateral green discoloration and necrosis of the middle third of the supracoracoid muscles.
