Effects of vacuum polarization on sub-coulomb 12C-12C scattering (l)

1991
For many years QED-effects have been investigated in atomic and particle physics mainly in leptonic systems. Little information only is available on QED-effects in Coulomb-interaction between hadrons.1,2) Experiments performed on the proton-proton system1) yield results which disagree with theoretical predictions by an amount of about 50% of the vacuumpolarization effect.
