Investigation of the output characteristics of a pulsed electron-beam-controlled laser utilizing carbon dioxide isotopes
1985
Results are presented of experimental investigations of the efficiency and spectral composition of the radiation from a pulsed atmospheric-pressure electron-beam-controlled laser containing /sup 13/C/sup 16/O/sub 2/ and /sup 12/C/sup 18/O/sub 2/ carbon dioxide isotopes in the active mixture. It was found that the operating efficiency of a laser utilizing these isotopes is similar to that of a laser utilizing the /sup 12/C/sup 16/O/sub 2/ molecule and the input energy is governed by the presence and number of impurities in the active mixture.
