Modeling of magnetic fields for application in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance gyroscopes

Controlling the magnetic field effectively is one of the most significant parts in realizing a gyroscope based on Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR). Adopting tools of the Bloch equation, a novel method to derive suitable parameters of magnetic fields in operating an NMR gyroscope is proposed. The principle and mechanism of an NMR gyro are presented. Methods to construct Bloch equations for an NMR gyroscope is analyzed and structured. Parameters of magnetic fields in perpendicular spatial orientations are selected through solving the Bloch equation under certain conditions. Thus, utilizing the results of the Bloch equations, magnetic field for an NMR gyroscope with super performance can be easily designed. This method could be utilized for the realization of ultra-sensitive and compact integrated rotation sensors.
