Study of the F meson in e/sup +/e/sup -/ collisions at 29 GeV

Data from the High Resolution, Spectrometer at PEP have been used to study the inclusive production of F/sup + -/ mesons. The meson observed in the F/sup +/ ..-->.. phi..pi../sup +/ decay has a mass of 1965.9 +- 3 MeV for Z > 0.4. In this region of Z, assuming R(F)/(R(F) + R(D)) = 0.15, the F ..-->.. phi..pi.. branching is (2.8 +- 1.0)%. 6 refs., 7 figs.
