Study of Music Therapy on Female Students Extent of Positive Thinking

Positive psychology is a newfangled movement in contemporary psychology which emphasizes on the necessity of understanding positive aspects of human experiences: and understanding that what makes life worth living. This study aims at examining music therapy in the extent of positive thinking among female students in Binesh Novin consultation clinic. This study is of semi-testing type and was conducted with pre-test and post-test plan on a control group. The statistical population of this study consists of all female students in Binesh Novin consultation clinic in year 2013. The sample of the study includes 40 female students selected by convenience sampling method in a random way allocated to two test and control groups. The collected data were statistically analyzed by multivariate covariance analysis (MANCOVA). Results showed that music therapy has increased female students’ positive thinking (p<0.001). Thus, it can be concluded that this therapy may be used as an appropriate intervention to increase positive thinking.
