Study of molecular weight distribution of dimethyl ethers of polyoxymethylene glycols in solvents of low polarity by UMR

MWD of dissolved polyoxymethylene (POM) was studied by UMR in the presence of crystalline POM. It was shown that MWD of oligomers as a result of attaining polymerization-depolymerization equilibrium at a temperature of 39–80° tends to the most probable value. The following equilibrium constants were determined: dissolved trioxane ← dissolved POM; dissolved trioxane ← crystalline POM; dissolved POM ← ← crystalline POM.
