Synthesis of diacetylenic analogues of leukotriene A4 (LTA4) methyl ester

Abstract Methyl (5S,6S)-epoxy-11,14-eicosadiyne-7E,9E-dienoate 1 and its 7Z isomer 2 were prepared using Wittig methodology. 1 did not inhibit human neutrophil 5-lipoxygenase but rather stimulated LTB 4 formation.
