The Comparative Study about Estimation of the Radical Surgery Indication for Tetralogy of Fallot with Left Ventricular End-Diastolic Volume Index Estimated by Echocardiography

Purpose To explore a better method to accurately assess the development situation of left ventricle by echocardiography so as to provide a reliable basis for radical surgery of TOF.Materials and Methods LVEDVI were estimated in 38 patients with TOF by echocardiography in methods of M Mode,simple plan Simpson and 3DE,then the patients were grouped according to LVEDVI30ml/m2 and LVEDVI≥30ml/m2 and the difference of the postoperative situations between them was respectively studied.The LVEDVI estimated value by echocardiography in three methods was grouped and compared so as to explore the value of it in the prognosis of radical surgery of TOF.Results 4 patients were dead due to serious low cardiac output syndrome and 34 patients survived their surgical operations.The differences of postoperative conditions in the 3DE group have some statistical significance,while differences of postoperative conditions in other two groups demonstrate no statistical significance.In addition,group comparison of LVEDVI estimated values in the above three methods also shows some statistical significance.Conclusions LVEDVI estimated by the 3DE method could provide reliable radical surgical indication of TOF.
