Acousto-Optical Imaging Spectroscopy

The problems accompanying the detection of spatial-spectral 3D array of information by means of acousto-optical tunable (AOTF) filters are described. These problems are data detection, chromatic distortions, data reliability and correction, technical implementation (instrumentation), data operation and analysis. The sequential stages of problems elimination are described. The various spectral instruments developed on the spatial and spectral technical platform are presented: spectral imaging endoscope, hyperspectrometer, plug-in spectral module for microscopes, stereo-imaging spectrometer, AOTF-based multifunctional (three-mode) device for microscopic spectral and phase imaging. It is shown that further development of the AOTF mathematical model is necessary, which approximate it as a classical optical element.
