Time interval counter for double-delay interpolation methods

2016
The invention provides a time interval counter for double-delay interpolation methods. The time interval counter is characterized in that time base reference signals are delayed by the aid of a time base delay chain which comprises delay units with delay of n delta tau, and statuses of event signals delayed by an event delay chain are latched by the aid of time base signal sets obtained by means of delaying. Delay (n-1) delta tau of delay units in the event delay chains is selected and is repeatedly latched, then time difference shorter than delay of a single event delay unit further can be separated from to-be-measured time intervals, and data obtained by means of latching can be processed, so that the measurement precision of delta tau can be obtained by the aid of the delay units with the delay of n delta tau and (n-1) delta tau. The time interval counter has the advantages that theoretical and technical reference can be provided for designing high-precision time interval measurement equipment; the time interval counter is easy to manufacture, the cost of high-precision time measurement equipment can be obviously reduced, and market running can be facilitated.
