The Statistical Investigation of Fractures of Upper Extremity

The 776 patients with the fracture of upper extremity was analyzed statistically in 11 items, such as type of fracture, method of treatment, mechanism of injury, sex distribution etc.. They were all admitted and treated in Kyushu University Hospital from 1946 to 1977.The period of these 32 years were classified into three groups by every 10 years for investigating the condition with change of time.Supracondylar fracture was most common lesion and fracture at the distal part of humerus was observed in 40 per cent of all cases. Most common mechanism of injury was falling down.
