Contraction of spleen in exercised freshwater teleost

Abstract 1. 1. The spleens of six species of freshwater teleost fish contracted fully within 3–5 min of the start of severe exercise, and then decreased by 47–85% in weight and by 56–93% in hemoglobin content.
