Life testing of nuclear facilities performed in Alexandrov NITI are related with the need for research of physical and chemical processes in main process circuits; life testing also determines the influence of these processes on equipment service life and helps to improve the operation modes of equipment. The desired goal is not possible to achieve without quantitative assessment of impurity distribution under various test conditions of nuclear facilities. Normal methods of chemical monitoring are not often insightful because the necessary sensitivity can not often be provided. The research results for physical and chemical processes in systems of test nuclear facilities are given; these researches were performed by different instrumental methods, such as, existing standard process solutions that ensure the separation and concentration of impurities on ion-exchange filters and in the volume of once-through steam generators. This integrated approach defines the actual impurity content and distribution level that describes the normal operation conditions for test nuclear facilities. Application of this approach helps to determine similar diagnostic levels for the operating nuclear facilities and nuclear facilities being designed.
