Synthesis and Characterization of MnZn Ferrite Nanoparticles for Biomedical Applications

2018
Mn 0.5 Zn 0.5 Fe 2 O 4 Nanoparticles for magnetic hyperthermia application were successfully synthesized by solvothermal method based on ethylene glycol (EG). X-ray diffraction (XRD) show that the obtained nanoparticles are pure MnZn ferrite with cubic spinel structure and have crystallite sizes ranging from 17 to 22 nm. The morphology of the particles was investigated by scanning electron micrographs (SEM) and the results indicate that all particles are regular spherical with narrow particle size distribution. Magnetic properties were characterized by vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) at room temperature.
