Metal complexes of pyrimidine-derived ligands—V. Co(II) and Cu(II) complexes with 6-guanidino-2,4-dimethyl-1,3-diazine and 6-phenylguanidino-2,4-dimethyl-1,3-diazine☆

Abstract The synthesis and physicochemical characterization of Co(II) and Cu(II) complexes of the title ligands are reported. Effective magnetic moment values and electronic diffuse-reflectance and solution spectral features along with ligand field parameters classify the Co(II) and Cu(II) complexes as six-coordinated. Vibrational spectral data furnish meaningful information regarding the bonding sites of the title ligands.
