Biotransformation of (D)-Limonene by Marine Bacteria Aeromonas hydrophila and Vibrio vulnificus

The biotransformation products of (D)-limenone by marine bacteria,Aeromonas hydrophila and Vibrio vulnificus, which collected from the Daya Bay of the South China Sea,were investigated.A series of mono-,sesqui-,di-and tri-terpenoids with various structural types,which produced by bio-oxidation,hydrogenation,hydrolyzation,esterification and cyclic cleavage toward(D)-limenone,were analyed by GC-MS.Microorganism biotransformation of monoterpene will provide the endless opportunities to obtain some significant bioactive terpenoids and to utilize the abundant monoterpene resource.
