The value of using NT-proBNP detection to identify cardiogenic dyspnea and pulmonary dyspnea
2013
Objective To study the clinical value of plasma N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide detection in patients with dyspnea. Methods There were 98 patients with dyspnea,we made the initial diagnosis according to the history, the conventional laboratory examination method,blood-gas analysis, electrocardiogram, chest X-ray and heart color dopplar ultrasound inspection. At the same time we detected the level of NT-pro BNP in plasma by using rapidly chemiluminescence detection, then compared plasma NT-proBNP level. Results Among 98 patients, there were 42 cases who caused by heart failure(cardiogenic),56 cases caused by respiratory disorders(respiratory). Finally we confirmed cardiogenicdyspnea 44 and respiratory dyspnea 54.The median NT-pro-BNP level in patientswith cardiogenic dyspnea was(2993±183) pg/mL as compared to(2993±183)pg/mL in patients with respiratory.dyspnea.Conclusion Rapid NT-proBNP detection has significance in differential diagnosis of cardiac and pulmonary dyspnea. It has high sensitivity, high specificity and can be used as a cardiac dyspnea independent testing factor.
