Propagation method for houttuynia cordata seeds

2013
The invention discloses a propagation method for houttuynia cordata seeds, relating to the field of plant propagation and plant physiology. The propagation method comprises the following steps of placing capsule of mature houttuynia cordata in a blast drying oven with constant temperature of 40 DEG C till the capsule is dried, after sterilization of dried threshed seeds, putting the dried threshed seeds into a PEG (polyethylene glycol) 6000 solvent for treatment, then sowing the seeds into a culture dish, and conducting germination culture for 25 days (the temperature is 25 plus or minus 2 DEG C, the illumination intensity is 2000Lx, and the illumination time is 12 hours per day) in an illumination incubator, wherein the germination rate of the seeds can reach above 90%. According to the method, the PEG 6000 is used for treatment of the houttuynia cordata seeds, the physiological status of the seeds is changed, and the seeds are promoted to germinate to grow into seedlings. The propagation method is not only a simple and economic seed propagation technology, and according to method, the problem of seed dormancy of the houttuynia cordata is solved, the propagation coefficient is increased, and the seed propagation system is perfected, and meanwhile, underground rootstock can be prevented from vegetative propagation so as to avoid bringing the disease and pest source of a stock plant to the seedlings and further avoid causing plant diseases and insect pests of a land for growing field crops, and simultaneously the planting cost is lowered.
