PGAs Inhibit in Vitro Infection with HTLV-I in Human Cord Blood Lymphocytes During Long-Term Culture

1987
The human T-cell leukemia/lymphoma virus type I (HTLV-I) is an oncogenic retrovirus that has been identified as the causative agent of a variant of adult T-cell leukemia and it is extremely tropic for T-lymphocytes, especially for the OKT4+ (helper/inducer) subset (Wong-Staal and Gallo 1985). The provirus integrates in the T-lymphocyte genome and leads to leukemic tranformation.
