Qualidade de vida global e fatores associados em idosos longevos assistidos em unidades de saúde da família

The objective of this study was to evaluate the overall quality of life and associated factors in elderly people assisted in Family Health Units, as well as to characterize the sample according to sociodemographic variables, social support, diagnosed morbidity in the patient's chart and depressive symptomatology. As a product of the dissertation, a scientific article was developed entitled: Factors that Influence the Global Quality of Life of the Elderly. This is a cross-sectional, quantitative study based on secondary data collected for the construction of the project "Successful Aging in Long-term Elderly Persons and Associated Factors". The sample size was 100 non-institutionalized elderly people of both sexes residing in the area covered by the micro-region 4.2 of the city of Recife, PE, Brazil and enrolled in the Family Health Units (USF). The overall quality of life was assessed using the World Health Organization Quality of Life (WHOQOL-BREF) instrument, using the first two general questions of the Whoqol bref, which addresses self-rated satisfaction with quality of life and self-perception of health. In relation to the sociodemographic characteristics: 77% female, 34% white, 46% with schooling from 1 to 4 years, 63% widowed, 76% with income from 1 to 2 minimum wages, 73% retired and 72% catholic According to the morbidity diagnosed in medical records (the most prevalent diseases were 77% systemic arterial hypertension, followed by 34% diabetes mellitus and 27% cardiovascular disease), 74% with social support and 63% with depressive symptomatology. For the multivariate analysis, the multivariate logistic model was used. Considering the overall quality of life was obtained as satisfactory 35%. It was concluded that, in relation to overall quality of life, the sample studied classified as unsatisfactory and that the social support, depression, osteoporosis and osteoarthritis factors associated with aging interfere in the overall quality of life of the elderly.
