Roadmap lor the Future

1988
Jet engine maintenance diagnostics has undergone a significant evolution in capability and support throughout the past decade. A standard for Air Force engine diagnostics and trending has been developed and fielded. The Comprehensive Engine Management System Increment IV (CEMS IV) will be enhanced and fielded in the future under the functional umbrella of the Core Automated Maintenance System, the Air Force cornerstone of maintenance management. This paper dicusses the methodology by which CEMS IV supports the philosophy of on-condition maintenance. The operational implementation of portable decision support tools within the CEMS IV network is highlighted. Milestones are presented for the successful implementation of CEMS IV across all jet engines in the Air Force inventory.
